AI Referral Conversions Swing 80 Points in 12 Months for B2B

In March 2025, AI-referred traffic to U.S. retail sites converted 38% worse than everything else. By March 2026, the same channel converted 42% better according to Adobe Digital Insights data covering more than a trillion site visits. Microsoft Clarity analysis of more than 1,200 websites in December 2025 recorded AI referral sign-up conversion at 1.66% versus 0.15% from organic search.

Semrush data placed the conversion lift for LLM visitors at 4.4x compared with traditional organic.
