GNW Study: 92% of B2B Organizations Adopting GEO
GNW Consulting research with 225 B2B leaders finds 92% experimenting with GEO and 78% of investors seeing measurable ROI.
GEO Adoption Reaches Tipping Point
A survey of 225 B2B marketing and revenue leaders shows 92% of organizations are already experimenting with or operationalizing Generative Engine Optimization. The 2026 State of Generative Engine Optimization in B2B Marketing study from GNW Consulting, conducted with research partner Demand Metric, also found that 78% of organizations investing in GEO report measurable ROI, according to Demand Gen Report.
Ownership and Traffic Patterns
Fewer than 15% of organizations have a dedicated GEO owner. At the same time, 22% of respondents report AI-driven traffic accounting for more than 5% of total website visits. Organizations allocating more than 5% of marketing budget to GEO initiatives reported higher levels of measurable impact.
Service Offerings and Budget
Eighty-eight percent of organizations now claim to offer GEO services, though 37% describe those offerings as loosely defined. Respondents ranked community platforms and AI-optimized content slightly ahead of traditional SEO tactics as drivers of AI discovery.
Competitive Pressure and ROI Timeline
The findings indicate organizations delaying GEO investment may face increasing competitive pressure as AI-driven discovery evolves, according to Demand Gen Report. Most emerging marketing categories take two to three years to produce defensible ROI. The study notes that organizations already seeing ROI may face pressure to scale GEO initiatives more quickly, per the same source.
