Report Links Landing Page Confidence to ROI Outperformance

According to Demand Gen Report, the 2026 State of Paid Media ROI Report from Unbounce and Ascend2 identifies landing pages as the strongest predictor of paid media ROI. Marketers most confident in their landing pages are 4.5 times more likely to land significantly above ROI targets, at 31% versus 7% for those less confident.

The same research shows 53% of marketers continue to send paid traffic to homepages and general product pages. Marketers above ROI targets optimize destination pages at a rate of 42%, compared with 38% for others. Ninety percent of marketers report budget and resource constraints.

B2B and B2C Performance Shows Minor Differences

Demand Gen Report notes that differences in paid media ROI performance between B2B and B2C respondents were very minor. B2B respondents reported 53% above target, 35% at target and 12% below target. B2C respondents reported 45% above target, 37% at target and 17% below target.

The report combines B2B and B2C responses for further analysis due to the limited variation.

High Performers Focus on Post-Click Optimization

According to Demand Gen Report, high-performing teams design landing pages optimized for the desired action and continue testing rather than adopting a set-it-and-forget-it approach. A/B testing is identified as a method that lets prospects indicate what converts best.

Unbounce publishes a Conversion Benchmark Report drawing on data from over 57 million conversions. The report shows a -24.3% correlation between the number of difficult words and conversion rate. Pages written at a 5th to 7th grade reading level record the highest median conversion rate.

Steve Oriola, CEO of Unbounce, stated that having a dedicated landing page already places teams ahead of more than half of marketers, and that optimizing the destination improves spend efficiency.
