Article examines how AI accelerates decisions on insufficient intent data in B2B go-to-market processes according to Demand Gen Report.

Go-to-market planning sessions this year carry the same mandate of more AI deployed faster across lead scoring, outreach drafting, account prioritization, pipeline routing, and autonomous agent decisions. According to Demand Gen Report, the speed of these implementations is measurable while the underlying direction remains uncertain.

AI Accelerates Existing Signals

Teams had already identified that topical and probabilistic data only indicated possible interest rather than confirming real buyers with defined problems. The discipline was shifting away from those signals before AI systems arrived. Because agents can be pointed directly at existing data, the technology reinstated the same weak signals and now executes on them instantly and at scale. Demand Gen Report states that AI does not correct insufficient data but instead operationalizes it.

Human Judgment Removed From Process

A content-read signal within an account previously served only as a hint that a human reviewer could weigh against other account context before acting. Agents treat the identical signal as a direct instruction to generate email, advance the lead, and launch sequences without pause. The volume of decisions based on thin signals therefore increases while the underlying accuracy of those signals stays unchanged.

Criteria for Autonomous Workflows

Effective autonomous systems must answer different questions than legacy signals were designed to support. These include identifying specific decision-makers, confirming real problems versus trending topics, measuring whether research activity has accelerated, and determining whether the account is driven by cost issues, compliance deadlines, or board-level transformation mandates. Forrester describes the environment as the GTM singularity, in which lines between marketing, sales, and acting systems collapse. According to Demand Gen Report, winning teams will be those that remain honest about the limits of their current data and disciplined about which processes run without oversight. Steering of these systems remains a human responsibility.
