Salesforce recently released a suite of B2B Commerce updates that includes a 24/7 Buyer Agent built directly into B2B Commerce on Agentforce. The updates add agentic commerce, intent-driven search, omni-channel buying, and headless extensibility.

Buyer Agent for conversational purchasing

The Buyer Agent lets customers find products, manage orders, and complete purchases through natural conversation on channels such as WhatsApp and SMS. It recommends products with rich visuals instead of plain text. The agent is available wherever buyers already communicate and does not require contact with a sales representative.

Intent-driven search replaces keyword matching

AI-Driven and Attribute-Based B2B Search understands buyer intent rather than exact keyword or SKU matches. Merchandisers can control attribute-based ranking and product visibility across large catalogs. The search returns relevant results for detailed queries and replaces empty results pages with product recommendations.

Omni-channel quoting and mobile apps

Omni-channel B2B Buying connects digital storefronts to sales teams through unified data. The flow begins with the generally available Request for Quote and continues with new Quote to Cart functionality that converts approved quotes into ready-to-checkout carts. Mobile Publisher enables companies to publish branded apps to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store without building from scratch, supporting native device features.

Headless tools for faster deployment

The Headless Reference Architecture and API Library, part of the Headless360 initiative, provides a pre-built functional application for catalog-to-checkout journeys. Developers can use frameworks such as React or Vue while maintaining a single source of truth. According to Demand Gen Report, the release aims to reduce friction across the buyer lifecycle.

B2B buyers use an average of ten channels during a purchase, according to McKinsey and Company, and the suite is designed to support movement between those channels without disconnected handoffs. According to Demand Gen Report, the tools are intended to keep context intact across touchpoints and accelerate complex orders.
