Owner.com completed a three-year AI rebuild of its website and online ordering product for independent restaurants. More than 83% of new customers now start their journey inside an AI product. The company passed $100M ARR while growing at triple digits and faster than the prior year, according to SaaStr. It closed a growth round at a $2.3B valuation.

Shift From Sales-Led Inbound to AI Grader

Owner.com moved from 100% sales-led inbound, which required booking a demo and speaking with a salesperson followed by an onboarding specialist. It replaced that path with Grader, a free AI build that finishes in five minutes. The free product now delivers a finished website, upscaled photography, generated video, and a full SEO and CRO audit before any payment. Grader checks roughly 90 SEO and CRO factors on a restaurant’s existing presence and crawls every place the restaurant appears on the open web.

Internal AI Agents and CEO Development

Owner.com pointed agents at internal coordination. Owen absorbs about 90% of builder coordination work. Finance moved its primary artifact out of Excel and into Claude. CEO Adam Guild shipped five products personally in the past two months, despite never having written production code at Owner.com previously. Their lead qualification agent estimates gross payments volume for a restaurant it has never worked with to within about $250 before any human conversation.

Metric Inversion and Outcome Instrumentation

Owner.com inverted its engagement metric so that every login to fix what the software did counts as a failure. It built outcome instrumentation after the change. Their own customer research three months earlier had stated restaurant owners feared AI, but that finding proved completely wrong, according to SaaStr. The company’s replacement metric tracks whether an existing customer’s sales increased after activation.

Valuation and Growth Context

The rebuild occurred while Owner.com was already exceeding the triple triple double double trajectory and growing efficiently, according to SaaStr. The changes produced triple-digit growth that accelerated year over year.
