A conversation intelligence platform records, transcribes and analyzes your sales calls and meetings, so managers can coach reps and read deal risk from what buyers actually said. The eight worth shortlisting in 2026 are Gong, Chorus by ZoomInfo, Salesloft (which now carries Clari Copilot), Outreach Kaia, Avoma, Jiminny, Fathom and Fireflies.
Every price and feature claim below comes from the vendor's own page, checked on October 21, 2026.A disclosure first. Most of the lists that rank for this search are written by a conversation intelligence vendor that puts itself at number one. ORM does not sell conversation intelligence. We build forecasting and planning models, and we sit downstream of these tools, so we see what call data does and does not do to a forecast. That is the lens for this comparison.

The best conversation intelligence software at a glance
Gong is the deepest standalone platform, the engagement suites bundle conversation intelligence into the tools reps already use, and the meeting assistants are the cheap way in. The table shows who each platform suits, how it is sold, what is published about price and whether its conversation data reaches a forecast.| Platform | Best for | How it is sold | Published price (checked Oct 21, 2026) | Does call data reach a forecast? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gong | Sales-led teams that want the deepest call analytics and one vendor for deals and forecast | "Licenses are priced per user" plus "a platform fee based on the number of users supported" (Gong) | Not published. Vendr median $55,430 a year across 1,146 purchases (Vendr) | Yes. Gong says conversation intelligence is "the data backbone for Gong Forecast," a higher tier (Gong) |
| Chorus by ZoomInfo | Teams already paying for ZoomInfo data | Part of ZoomInfo's engagement products; Vendr says higher tiers include Chorus (Vendr) | Not published (ZoomInfo) | Deal momentum and CRM sync; the Chorus page names no forecast product (ZoomInfo) |
| Salesloft Conversation Intelligence (formerly Clari Copilot) | Teams running Salesloft cadences or Clari Forecast | Part of the Salesloft platform | Not published. Vendr median $30,740 a year across 710 purchases, for the whole Salesloft platform (Vendr) | Yes. Salesloft says call data can "feed buyer signals directly into your forecast" in Clari Forecast (Salesloft) |
| Outreach Kaia | Teams whose reps already work in Outreach | Amplify plans priced on AI credits; full conversation intelligence in Essentials, Plus and Pro (Outreach) | "Custom pricing." Vendr median $45,600 a year across 919 purchases, for the whole Outreach platform (Vendr) | Only in Amplify Pro, the one plan that lists forecasting (Outreach) |
| Avoma | Small and mid-size teams that want published prices and add-ons they can switch on | Per "recorder" seat; viewers are free (Avoma) | Startup $19 and Organization $29 per recorder seat a month, billed annually. Full conversation intelligence is a $29 add-on ($35 monthly) | Through a separate $29 Revenue Intelligence add-on that lists forecasting |
| Jiminny | Mid-market teams that buy mainly for coaching | "One flat per-user fee, with recording, transcription and AI included" (Jiminny) | Not published; 14-day trial | Pipeline management and deal insights; the pricing page does not mention forecasting |
| Fathom | Small teams that want a free start and simple CRM sync | Per user, two-user minimum on team plans (Fathom) | Free plan. Team $15 and Business $25 per user a month on annual billing ($19 and $34 monthly) | No forecast. Business adds CRM field sync, Deal View and AI scorecards |
| Fireflies | Budget note-taking with light call analytics | Per seat (Fireflies) | Free plan. Pro $10 and Business $19 per seat a month, billed annually ($18 and $29 monthly). Conversation intelligence starts in Business | No forecast |
How we compared these platforms
We judged every platform on the same six questions and gave no scores, because no vendor publishes transcription or scoring accuracy in a form you can compare. A score would be made up.- Capture. Which channels it records: calls from the dialer, video meetings, email.
- Analysis. Topic and competitor tracking, talk time, scorecards, and whether coaching is built in or bolted on.
- Where the data goes. CRM write-back, deal views, and whether anything reaches a forecast.
- Fit to your stack. Standalone, or part of the engagement or data suite your reps already use.
- Price evidence. A list price on the vendor's page, or real contract data. We left out guesses.
- Trust. Whether the vendor says how it handles your recordings and whether a summary traces back to the transcript.
What is a conversation intelligence platform?
A conversation intelligence platform turns recorded sales conversations into structured data: who spoke, what was asked, which competitors and objections came up, and what was agreed as the next step. Call recording stores the audio. Conversation intelligence reads it.The work happens in four steps. The tool joins or dials the call and records it. It transcribes the audio and labels each speaker. AI models tag topics, questions, objections, pricing talk and competitor mentions, and score the call against your playbook. Then it writes the output somewhere useful: a CRM field, a coaching queue, a deal board, or a forecast.
That last step is where these platforms really differ. Every tool on this list records and transcribes well enough. What separates them is what happens to the data after the call ends. For how revenue intelligence differs, see revenue intelligence vs conversation intelligence.
The 8 platforms, one by one
1. Gong
Gong is the most complete standalone conversation intelligence platform, and its forecast tier runs on the same call data. Gong says it "automatically records and transcribes every sales call, meeting, and email" and that conversation intelligence is "the data backbone for Gong Forecast" (Gong). Its forecast page says it uses "300+ unique signals to predict deal outcomes with 20% more precision than algorithms based on CRM data" (Gong). That is Gong's own claim, and we have not seen the test behind it. Watch out for: price and breadth. Gong charges per user plus a platform fee (Gong), and the median contract Vendr sees is $55,430 a year. Some teams buy all of Gong to solve a problem that is really a forecasting problem. Our Gong vs Chorus comparison and Gong alternatives page go deeper. Best for: sales-led mid-market and enterprise teams that run most deals on recorded calls and want one vendor for calls, deals and the roll-up.2. Chorus by ZoomInfo
Chorus makes the most sense when ZoomInfo is already your contact and company data source. ZoomInfo describes Chorus as conversation intelligence that records and examines calls, meetings and emails, tracks deal momentum and account health, and pairs call data with ZoomInfo contact and company data (ZoomInfo). Watch out for: buying it on its own. ZoomInfo's pricing page lists no prices and none of its named packages mention Chorus (ZoomInfo). Vendr says Chorus sits among the premium features that add cost and that higher tiers include it (Vendr). Ask exactly which package includes it. Best for: ZoomInfo customers who want call insight next to their prospecting data.3. Salesloft Conversation Intelligence (formerly Clari Copilot)
Salesloft is now the home of what used to be Clari Copilot, which makes it the most direct path from call data into a dedicated forecasting product. Clari and Salesloft have merged. On October 21, 2026, clari.com and the old Clari Copilot page both redirected to salesloft.com, and Salesloft's site carries separate logins for Clari Forecast and Conversations. Salesloft says "what buyers say become automatic CRM updates, seller actions, and coaching moments" and that call data can "feed buyer signals directly into your forecast" (Salesloft). Watch out for: a platform that is still joining up. The two products keep separate logins today, so check what is truly connected in the version you would buy. Pricing is not published. Our Clari vs Gong comparison covers the forecast side. Best for: teams that already run Salesloft cadences or Clari Forecast and want call data in the same place.4. Outreach Kaia
Kaia is Outreach's conversation intelligence, and it is strongest in the live call. Outreach says Kaia "captures real-time transcription" and "delivers on-demand confidence with live battlecards," and can translate call summaries and transcripts (Outreach). Watch out for: plan packaging. Outreach sells Amplify plans built on AI credits. Full conversation intelligence and coaching sit in Essentials, Plus and Pro; Core lists only the dialer and call insights. Forecasting appears only in Amplify Pro (Outreach). Mindtickle's review makes a fair point: Salesloft and Outreach are engagement platforms first, with conversation intelligence on top. For how the two engagement suites compare, see Outreach vs Salesloft. Best for: teams whose reps already sequence and dial in Outreach.5. Avoma
Avoma is the most transparent mid-priced option: every plan and add-on has a price on the page. It charges per "recorder" seat, viewers and collaborators are free, and the Startup plan is $19 per recorder seat a month on annual billing, for up to 25 paid seats. The Organization plan, $29 on annual billing for up to 100 seats, includes "Limited Conversation Intelligence." The full Conversation Intelligence add-on is $29 per seat a month billed annually ($35 monthly) and lists AI call scoring, coaching recommendations and smart trackers (Avoma). Watch out for: stacking. The headline plan price is not the conversation intelligence price. A team that wants full call scoring pays the plan plus the add-on, and forecasting is a third line, the $29 Revenue Intelligence add-on. Best for: teams of up to about 100 sellers that want published prices and a free trial (14 days on the Organization plan).6. Jiminny
Jiminny is built around coaching, sold as one per-user fee. Its pricing page says "Jiminny is one flat per-user fee, with recording, transcription and AI included" across three plans, Capture, Scale and Grow. Built-in calling includes 1,350 minutes per user every 30 days (Jiminny). Watch out for: the forecast gap. The pricing page lists pipeline management and deal insights but does not mention forecasting, so the roll-up happens somewhere else. Prices are by quote. Best for: mid-market teams that buy conversation intelligence mainly to coach reps from real calls.7. Fathom
Fathom is the cheapest real way to start with a team, because the free plan records and transcribes without a cap. The free plan offers "unlimited recordings + transcriptions." The Team plan is $15 per user a month on annual billing and $19 monthly, with a two-user minimum. The Business plan, $25 annual and $34 monthly, adds "CRM field sync," "Deal View summarizing insights" and "coaching metrics & AI scorecards" (Fathom). Watch out for: depth. Fathom is a meeting assistant that grew into sales use. Its pricing page lists no dialer and no forecast, and CRM field sync lives only on the Business tier. Best for: small teams that want call summaries in the CRM this week without a procurement cycle.8. Fireflies
Fireflies has the lowest published price here for a plan its vendor labels conversation intelligence: Business, at $19 per seat a month on annual billing. The plan is $29 when billed monthly, and Pro is $10 annual or $18 monthly (Fireflies). The analytics include speaker talk time, sentiment, topic trackers and question detection. Watch out for: fit. Fireflies is a general meeting tool used across functions. Its pricing page lists no deal or forecast features, and it places CRM integrations on the paid tiers. Best for: cost-conscious teams that mostly need searchable call notes with light analytics. How much does conversation intelligence software cost?
Published prices run from free to about $35 per seat a month for meeting assistants, while the enterprise suites quote privately and Vendr's medians for them land between about $30,000 and $55,000 a year. Here is what the published prices mean for one team (illustrative: 40 recording sellers, annual billing, list prices from October 21, 2026, before any discount):| Option | Math | List cost per year |
|---|---|---|
| Fireflies Business | 40 seats x $19 x 12 | $9,120 |
| Fathom Business | 40 seats x $25 x 12 | $12,000 |
| Avoma Organization plus Conversation Intelligence add-on | 40 seats x ($29 + $29) x 12 | $27,840 |
| Gong | Quote only; Vendr median contract, all sizes | $55,430 |
Seat cost is only part of the bill. Someone has to build the trackers and scorecards, keep CRM mapping clean, and coach from the output. A tool nobody coaches from is an expensive recorder.
How to choose a conversation intelligence platform
Start with where your reps already work and what you need the data to do, then shortlist the two or three platforms in that row.| Your situation | Shortlist |
|---|---|
| Reps live in Salesloft or you run Clari Forecast | Salesloft Conversation Intelligence |
| Reps live in Outreach | Outreach Kaia |
| ZoomInfo is your data source | Chorus |
| You want the deepest call analytics and one vendor for deals and forecast | Gong |
| Coaching is the main goal, mid-market budget | Jiminny, Avoma |
| Small team, you want published prices and a fast start | Fathom, Fireflies, Avoma |
| You run HubSpot Sales Hub and want to start inside the CRM | HubSpot's own call transcription, which its pricing page lists on Sales Hub Professional and Enterprise (HubSpot) |
- Is my data secure, and are you using it to train your models? Your recordings hold pricing, roadmaps and customer names.
- Can every summary trace back to the transcript? If an AI summary says the buyer agreed to a next step, you should be able to click to the moment they said it.
- How will this work for my business? Your stages, your methodology, your deal types. If the answer is that you will adapt to their template, expect a change management project.
- What lands in the CRM, and on which object? Watch it write to your own opportunity in the trial, not a demo record.
- What share of our calls will it actually capture? Track it after launch with a call recording coverage rate. Insight from half your calls is a biased sample.
Check consent rules too. Recording laws differ by state and country, so confirm how each tool announces that it is recording before the first call.
Where does conversation data feed forecasting?
Conversation data improves the forecast at the deal level, by flagging risk that never shows up in CRM fields, but it cannot carry the forecast total on its own. A pricing objection on a call or a competitor named three times is real information. So is a champion who stops showing up.The earliest slip signal we see is the lack of a signal. No stage change, no close date change, no amount change, no notes. From the seller's side, the same thing shows up as a buyer who stops answering email, stops taking calls and stops texting. Conversation intelligence is good at catching that silence on deals in an active calling motion, which is why it pairs well with deal risk scoring and with tracking champion activity.
The limit is coverage. Calls only exist for deals reps are working. Across ORM customers, only about 20% of the pipeline value dated to close in the quarter on day one closes in that quarter, and more than 10% of a typical pipeline has not been touched in 12 months. Nobody is calling those deals, so there is no transcript to analyze. A quarter also includes deals that will be created and closed inside it, which no call recorder can see yet.
That is why the strongest forecast setups run two views side by side. One shows what the field and the calls say will happen. The other shows what a model trained on your closing history says is likely, built on how the pipeline changes day to day: stage moves, amount changes, close date pushes. When the two disagree, that is where the forecast call should spend its time. ORM builds the second view, with a 95% accuracy target on new and expansion revenue. For the tools on that side of the line, see the best sales forecasting software.
One more habit matters more than any tool. The RevOps person who owns the forecast should talk to sales leaders every day, and always before the weekly forecast call, to test the model against what reps are hearing. Call data makes that conversation sharper. It does not replace it.
What conversation intelligence will not do for you
It will not coach your reps, and it will not make an AI summary true. The platform finds the moments worth coaching. A manager still has to sit with the rep and do it.Treat AI summaries the way you would treat a new analyst's first deck: trust, but validate. If a leader repeats a generated conclusion without checking the call behind it, nobody is thinking critically. Use the tool to take the note-taking and CRM updates off reps' plates, so they have more time for the part that cannot be automated, the relationship with the buyer.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a conversation intelligence platform?
A conversation intelligence platform records sales calls and meetings, transcribes them, and uses AI to pull out what matters: topics, objections, competitor mentions, next steps and how much each side talked. The better ones push those signals into the CRM and into deal and coaching views, so managers act on what buyers said instead of what reps remembered to log.
What is the best conversation intelligence software?
It depends on your stack and budget. Gong is the deepest standalone platform and has its own forecast tier. Salesloft and Outreach make sense if your reps already live in those tools. Chorus fits ZoomInfo customers. Avoma, Fathom and Fireflies publish prices and suit smaller teams. Jiminny suits mid-market teams that care most about coaching.
How much does conversation intelligence software cost?
Prices run from free to tens of thousands a year. Fireflies Business is $19 per seat per month billed annually, Fathom Business $25 and Avoma's conversation intelligence add-on $29, all checked on October 21, 2026. Gong, Chorus, Salesloft, Outreach and Jiminny quote privately. Vendr puts the median Gong contract at $55,430 a year across 1,146 purchases.
What is the difference between conversation intelligence and call recording?
Call recording stores the audio. Conversation intelligence reads it. It transcribes every call, tags topics and objections, tracks talk time and questions, scores calls against your playbook and links what was said to the deal in your CRM. A recording answers what happened on one call. Conversation intelligence answers what is happening across all of them.
Does conversation intelligence work with Salesforce?
Usually, and the depth is what varies. Most platforms here log calls, summaries and fields against the Salesforce opportunity. Fathom lists CRM field sync only on its Business plan, Fireflies puts CRM integrations on paid tiers, and the enterprise suites write deal signals back automatically. Test the sync on your own objects before you sign.
Can conversation intelligence improve forecast accuracy?
It helps at the deal level. A champion going quiet or a new competitor on a call is a real risk signal. It helps less with the total, because calls cover only the deals reps are working. Across ORM customers, only about 20% of the pipeline dated to close in the quarter on day one closes in that quarter, and nobody is calling the rest.
